Job Description :
An opportunity exists for an experienced Armed Security Guard to provide static guarding and armed security services at a mining operation in Rustenburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting employees, assets and infrastructure, controlling access to the site, conducting security patrols and responding appropriately to security incidents.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide static guarding and armed security duties at the mining operation.
- Protect company personnel, assets, equipment and infrastructure.
- Control access to the premises and verify employees, visitors and vehicles.
- Conduct regular perimeter and site patrols.
- Identify and report suspicious behaviour, security breaches or criminal activity.
- Remain alert to theft, unauthorised entry and other security threats.
- Respond to security incidents in accordance with company procedures and applicable legislation.
- Maintain accurate shift logs, occurrence records and incident reports.
- Report serious incidents promptly to site management.
- Ensure safe handling, carrying and inspection of firearms in compliance with South African firearm legislation and site procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- South African citizen.
- Valid, active PSIRA registration with accredited Grade E, D and C certificates.
- Valid firearm competency certificate.
- Valid business/handgun firearm licence.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans, spoken and written.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in security guarding, access control and crime prevention.
- Physically and mentally fit to perform armed security duties.
- Clean criminal record.
- High level of integrity and professional conduct.
- Ability to work shifts and within a mining environment.
