Job Description:
The Shaft Engineer will provide engineering oversight for shaft infrastructure, equipment and associated systems to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of the mine shaft.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee engineering systems and infrastructure associated with shaft operations.
- Manage planned and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure shaft equipment is maintained to required safety and operational standards.
- Monitor equipment reliability and engineering performance.
- Provide technical support to shaft operations.
- Identify engineering risks and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with statutory engineering requirements.
- Coordinate engineering employees and contractors.
- Maintain engineering records, inspections and technical reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Relevant Engineering qualification.
- Engineering discipline:
- GCC Mines & Works:
- ECSA registration:
- Relevant shaft engineering experience:
- Mining industry experience:
- Record of Service.
- Medically fit to work in a mining environment.
- Strong knowledge of mining engineering standards and statutory requirements.
